Please give me recs that will introduce me to your favorite original characters.  There are no limits to this request; I don't want to miss anyone interesting, but please indicate whether a story is very angsty.  I save those to read when I'm in the proper mood.  I don't see a tag to indicate request: original characters.

As usual, I could swear I had this one bookmarked and, of course, can't find it.  I've wasted spent way too much time re-reading other fic looking for this one.

I read this recently but do not remember where.

Simon comes to deliver news to Blair about Jim's death following a trip they made. Turns out Jim's death is not the accident Simon says it is, as he had a hand in Jim's demise in order to be with Blair.

Does this ring any bells with anyone please?

Jim ties up Blair, saying that the poker nights were getting lame and they sweetened the deal, Blair.  The guys come to the loft and play and Jim wins.

I 'm in the mood for it just to read.
